Following the inspection

The prevention of mismanagement at livestock facilities and the unproductive loss of cattle (hereinafter referred to as "cattle") is under constant supervision of the prosecutor's office.

To ensure the preservation of the cattle population and maintain order in animal housing facilities during the winter stall period, prosecutor's office employees visited 5 agricultural organizations. The results of the inspections indicate that violations of zootechnical and veterinary-sanitary rules are permitted at livestock facilities: premises are covered in manure, window openings and doors are not insulated, and violations of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Identification, Registration, Traceability of Farm Animals (Herds), Identification and Traceability of Products of Animal Origin" were also identified.

Following the inspection, response measures were taken, as a result of which 11 employees of agricultural enterprises in the region were subjected to disciplinary action, and 2 officials were brought to administrative responsibility at the request of the district prosecutor's office.

In addition, the district prosecutor's office has paid special attention to cattle loss.

One of the most common causes of unproductive cattle loss is respiratory diseases in animals. The cause of these diseases is drafts in production facilities, which contribute to low temperatures in cow sheds during the winter stall period and increase the likelihood of illness.

Unproductive cattle loss causes material damage to agricultural organizations, which is subsequently recovered from the responsible employees, including at the request of the prosecutor.

Thus, in 2021, the district prosecutor's office filed 3 lawsuits with the court to recover the cost of deceased animals from the responsible persons. These lawsuits were reviewed and satisfied by the district court.
