If household appliances catch fire, it is necessary to de-energize the apartment or unplug the electrical appliances from the socket, if it is safe for your life. A burning electrical appliance can be covered with a dry blanket or towel to stop the supply of oxygen to the fire source. Do not open windows during a fire – the influx of air supports combustion and the flame will intensify. If you cannot extinguish the fire within the first minute, and the flames have spread beyond the appliance casing, immediately leave the premises and call rescuers by dialing "101" or "112". If possible, warn your neighbors about the incident.
