"House without fire" - under this name, from March 17 to March 23, a special preventive event of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will be held in the Glubokoye district.
The purpose of the event is to reduce the risks of fires in residential buildings and deaths from them. Ministry of Emergency Situations employees will inspect the fire safety of both residential buildings and outbuildings: bathhouses, garages, sheds, and will explain the consequences of non-compliance with fire safety rules. Specialists will also remind about the inadmissibility of leaving young children unattended, the dangers of smoking, and the need to install autonomous fire alarms in living rooms.
The focus of the work will be on households and apartments of citizens most at risk of fires.
For reference: As of March 11, 2026, there were 233 fires in the Vitebsk region, resulting in 39 deaths. In the Glubokoye district, there were 14 fires and 5 deaths.
In 70% of cases, the conditions contributing to deaths were smoking and alcohol intoxication.
The main causes of fires remain: careless handling of fire, violation of rules for operating stoves, heat-generating devices, violation of rules for operating electrical networks and equipment.
To reach everyone and explain the importance of observing fire safety rules is the fundamental task of the planned event.
