Road Traffic Accident Prevention!

On June 24, 2022, a Unified Road Safety Day will be held in the city of Glubokoye and Glubokoye district under the slogan "Don't Rush to Overtake! Make Sure It's Safe!", aimed at preventing road traffic accidents resulting from entering the oncoming lane.

• When driving, a driver must remember that a vehicle is a means of increased danger, and not only their life but also the lives of other road users depend solely on the driver's actions and strict adherence to traffic rules. Choosing a speed that does not correspond to road conditions and violating overtaking rules are the most frequent causes of road traffic accidents.

According to Article 18.13, Part 9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus, a violation by a person driving a vehicle of overtaking rules or entering the oncoming lane in cases where it is prohibited by traffic rules is punishable by a fine ranging from 2 to 10 basic units, with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to 1 year. If these actions have led to a hazardous situation, the offender faces a fine ranging from 5 to 20 basic units, with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to 2 years.
