Prevention of drunkenness and alcoholism

Drunkenness is one of the most persistent relics of the past, not only in the minds but also in the daily lives of some individuals. The systematic consumption of alcoholic beverages has a detrimental effect on the moral and intellectual development of a person, causing antisocial and immoral impulses.

Alcohol not only causes health problems but also leads to various crimes. In a sober state, a person can control their behavior and negative character traits. When consuming alcohol, especially in large doses, self-control is lost. Alcoholism is a mental illness that gradually leads to the disintegration and degradation of personality, and the loss of moral and ethical norms of behavior. This is clearly visible in the example of homeless people, beggars, and other individuals who have fallen to the bottom of the social ladder. Drunkenness and alcoholism remain the primary conditions that create an increased risk of fires, injuries, and fatalities. Murders, bodily harm, rape, beatings, insults, and other crimes against individuals are most often committed under the influence of alcoholism.

Law enforcement officers are carrying out a wide range of measures aimed at preventing drunkenness and alcoholism among the population. In the current year alone, 64 individuals who abuse alcoholic beverages have been brought to a narcologist to resolve the issue of their registration for dispensary observation. By court decisions, 18 citizens suffering from chronic alcoholism have been sent to therapeutic labor facilities. There are 91 individuals registered for preventive observation at the Glubokoye Department of Internal Affairs who have committed offenses while intoxicated. 22 individuals have been prosecuted for violating anti-alcohol legislation. 142 liters of moonshine and mash, and 9 moonshine stills have been seized from illegal circulation.
