From February 11 to 17, a special preventive event "House Without Fire" is being held in the Glubokoye district. The main goal is to minimize the risks of fires in residential buildings and, as a consequence, loss of life.

Each of us wants to feel safe, especially at home. But, unfortunately, fires pose a real threat that can affect anyone. That is why the Ministry of Emergency Situations does not limit itself to extinguishing fires and rescuing people. They actively work proactively, conducting special preventive measures.

For reference: As of February 16, 2026, 8 fires have occurred in the Glubokoye district. The fire incidents occurred in the residential sector. The number of deaths this year has already reached 3 people, and all of them became victims of an unextinguished cigarette.

During the special preventive event "House without fire," rescuers focused on visiting households, apartments of lonely and elderly citizens living alone, disabled people, large families, and other categories most at risk of fires. Ministry of Emergency Situations employees paid close attention to the fire safety condition of housing and also explained how to make a home safer.

For reference. In January of the current year, a father and son died as a result of a fire emergency. During the extinguishment of a fire in a kitchen area, rescuers found the body of a young man, and in an adjacent room, the body of his father. A fire tragedy also occurred in February of the current year in the village of Golubichi. The owner of the house died in the fire.

Upon inspection of households, specialists assessed the condition of stoves and chimneys. In conditions of low air temperatures, special emphasis is placed on the rules for operating stove heating: "Heat the stove in small amounts, several times a day, to avoid overheating. Do not store flammable materials on the surface of stoves, and do not use flammable liquids for ignition," rescuers recommended.

Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations identified households with potentially dangerous living conditions. They also reminded about the dangers of careless handling of fire, the prohibition of smoking in residential areas, and emphasized the inadmissibility of leaving young children unattended.

Representatives of the rescue department emphasized the installation of autonomous fire alarms in living rooms. Rescuers explained why a compact device, costing the price of a couple of cups of coffee, saves hundreds of lives annually.

Reaching everyone and explaining the importance of observing fire safety rules are the fundamental tasks of the preventive event.
