In January 2024, negative trends are emerging in the field of road traffic safety in the provision of services related to the transportation of passengers by route minibuses.
In January 2024, negative trends are emerging in the field of road traffic safety in the provision of services related to the transportation of passengers by route minibuses.
On January 15 and 17 of the current year, 2 road traffic accidents involving route minibuses were registered in the Republic, resulting in 8 passengers receiving injuries of varying severity. The main violations by drivers continue to be: transporting passengers not wearing seat belts, failure to maintain distance, incorrect speed selection, violation of traffic sign requirements, maneuvering rules, and lane positioning.
In order to improve the safety of passenger transportation and reduce the severity of consequences of traffic accidents involving route minibuses, from January 22 to 28, 2024, the State Traffic Inspectorate, together with interested departments, is conducting a preventive event on the territory of the Republic to control compliance with the Traffic Rules by drivers engaged in passenger transportation.
