The main goal of this event is the prevention and prophylaxis of child road traffic injuries. The preventive campaign is designed to draw public attention to the problem of ensuring children's safety on the road, and to increase the level of responsibility of parents and drivers.

In the past period of 2024, 14 road traffic accidents occurred in the Vitebsk region (12 in 2023), in which 15 minors were injured (14 in 2023), and 0 died (1 in 2023).
During the campaign, vehicles must travel with low beam headlights on during daylight hours (clause 166.9 of the Traffic Regulations). Special attention will be paid to drivers' compliance with speed limits, rules for driving through pedestrian crossings, and safe transportation of children.
The State Automobile Inspectorate urges drivers to be extremely attentive when driving near children's institutions, passing through unregulated pedestrian crossings, transport stops, and in courtyards.
In accordance with Part 3 of Article 18.13 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offenses, administrative responsibility in the form of a warning or a fine of up to 3 basic units is provided for violation of the above-mentioned clause of the Traffic Regulations.
Dear parents! Do not forget to remind your children of the simple rules of safe behavior on streets and roads. Strive to make compliance with the Traffic Regulations a habit and a norm of behavior on the street. And do not violate the Traffic Regulations yourself, for the sake of your children's safety. Remember that children under 12 years of age must be in a child restraint system suitable for their weight and build. The only exception is when the height
a child is over 150 cm. A child restraint system and a seat belt (which all passengers must use) will save a life in more than 80% of cases in the event of a traffic accident.
Take care of your children and remember that they are always watching you. They are not afraid, they do not know danger. They just imitate. Be a worthy example for your child.
