The problem of drunkenness and alcoholism continues to be one of the most socially significant and pressing issues for our state. This negative phenomenon causes immense material and moral damage to society as a whole and to individual citizens. The study of this issue has shown that drunkenness and alcoholism, along with social dependency, remain the main breeding ground for crime, including recidivism.
In order to prevent the abuse of alcoholic beverages by citizens, on 05/15/2026, 2 field court sessions of the court of Gluboksky district were held at the Gluboksky District Department of Internal Affairs, chaired by Judge of the court of Gluboksky district Tarasevich A.R., with the participation of the Deputy Prosecutor of Gluboksky district Kovalyonok Yu.V., on sending 2 residents of Gluboksky district to LTP.
During the court sessions, it was established that these individuals had been repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility within a year for committing offenses while intoxicated, after which they were warned about the possibility of being sent to LTP, but they did not draw proper conclusions for themselves and again committed an offense while intoxicated, for which they were brought to administrative responsibility.
According to the medical report, these individuals are registered with a narcologist and suffer from alcohol dependence syndrome.
In addition, they are not officially employed and cause conflicts at their place of residence.
The lack of motivation to change their behavior and lifestyle, and the inability of these individuals to overcome alcohol dependence on their own, indicated the grounds for restrictive measures in the form of medical and social rehabilitation in a therapeutic and labor facility.
By the decisions of the court of Gluboksky district dated 05/15/2026, taking into account the prosecutor's opinion, the applications of the Gluboksky District Department of Internal Affairs were fully satisfied, and the individuals were sent to LTP for medical and social rehabilitation with mandatory labor for a period of 12 months and 24 months.
The event was of a preventive nature; individuals prone to alcohol abuse, repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility, and registered with the Glubokoe District Department of Internal Affairs for preventive monitoring, were present as listeners in the court hearing.
The court's decisions have not yet entered into legal force and may be appealed or protested in appellate proceedings.
