This is not about sports, but about a pressing issue. It is necessary to soberly assess the special danger that venturing onto the first winter ice poses to any person.

In the last few days alone, 3 people have fallen through the ice in the Gluboksky district. And these are only the facts that have been officially reported to law enforcement agencies, but I believe these are far from all cases.

Perhaps only fish, if they could, would rejoice in this situation. Rescue services from two districts searched for one fisherman for a long time, thinking he had drowned in Lake Petrovshchina. It turned out that neither fish, nor a box, nor documents, nor an ice drill – nothing is needed after a cold winter dip, as long as one can get out alive and get home quickly. He was lucky this time. The second fisherman, who fell through the ice on Lake Velikoye, was rescued but taken to intensive care. Without the help of others, the outcome would have been completely different.

Unfortunately, not all cases end in favor of those who take risks: one fisherman on Lake Beloye could not get out of the ice hole and drowned before he could enjoy ice fishing. The consequences of an ill-considered act are tragedy, grief in the family, an irreparable loss for all loved ones.

Driving past Lake Velikoye, I notice that many fishermen, in the hope of a "golden fish," despite the warning sign about danger on the board by the shore, risking their lives, continue to boldly step forward towards the center of the reservoir, trying to outdo their "fellow enthusiasts," drilling many holes in hope of luck, without thinking about the consequences of their actions.

It is necessary to remember that by making the wrong choice once, you risk forever losing the most valuable thing a person has: life.
