General Provisions:

The District Department for Emergency Situations shall be guided in its activities by the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, laws, international treaties of the Republic of Belarus, regulatory legal acts of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus, the regional Directorate, local executive and administrative bodies, and other regulatory legal acts.

The Department shall be accountable to the regional Directorate in its activities. Control over the activities of the District Department for Emergency Situations shall be exercised by the regional Directorate, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as, within their competence, by local executive, administrative, and control bodies.

Main tasks of the department:

  • organization and implementation of state fire supervision;
  • organization and conduct of fire prevention measures;
  • firefighting, liquidation of accidents, disasters and consequences of natural disasters, rescue of people;
  • maintenance of high combat readiness of subordinate fire and rescue units;
  • fulfillment of other tasks stipulated by legislation.
