Religious situation and state-church relations

There are 35 religious communities registered in the Gluboksky district: 18 Orthodox, 12 Catholic, 2 Protestant, 1 Old Believer, 1 Muslim, 1 Jehovah's Witness.

The general trends characterizing the confessional life of the district are:

- an increase in the level of attendance of religious communities by the population and their participation in religious activities;

- increased interest in religion among young citizens;

- active work of religious organizations in the spiritual, educational and social spheres of life;

- expanded participation of clergy (of Orthodox and Catholic faiths) in public events - state holidays, celebrations of memorable and anniversary dates, charity events, social service activities.

There are 36 places of worship in the district, 14 of which are architectural monuments, and 4 churches have the status of historical and cultural value of republican significance.
