Lukashenko makes local government reshuffle
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko gave his approval to a number of appointments in oblast, city and district executive committees as he made personnel decisions on 27 March, BelTA has learned.
Dmitry Petrozhitsky has been approved for the post of First Deputy Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee. Earlier, he was in charge of agriculture and food at the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee.
Nadezhda Lazarevich, former Minsk Vice Mayor, has been approved for the post of First Deputy Chairwoman of the Minsk City Hall. Aleksandr Chernikov will take the post of Minsk Vice Mayor. He previously headed the inspection of the Department for Control and Supervision of Construction in Minsk.
The president also approved the appointment of Sergei Lobodinsky, former chief of administration at the Brest Oblast Executive Committee, as Chairman of the Brest City Hall. Dmitry Vlasik will serve as chief of administration at the Brest Oblast Executive Committee. He previously worked as First Deputy Chairman of the Architecture and Construction Committee of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee - head of the department of the investment, construction and mitigation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident.
Dmitry Kozel was appointed Chairman of the Gomel District Executive Committee. He earlier worked as First Deputy Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee.
The president gave his consent to the appointment of new heads of six districts - Dobrush, Vileika, Uzda, Krugloye, Khotimsk and Chausy, and also the new head of the Administration of the Zheleznodorozhny District of Gomel.
