Special preventive event "Water Watch": safety on the reservoirs of Glubokoye region

From June 22 to June 28, a specialized preventive event "Water Patrol" will be held in the Gluboksky district.

The main goal of this initiative is to reduce the number of deaths on water bodies and to increase the level of life safety culture among the population.

With the onset of warm days, many of us strive to relax by the water – on rivers and lakes. However, despite the joy and pleasure that time spent by the water bodies brings, it is extremely important to remember about safety. Water can be dangerous: depth, currents, and underwater obstacles are all life-threatening factors.
During the June days, joint efforts of employees of the Gluboksky District Department for Emergency Situations, OSVOD, and the Department of Internal Affairs will organize enhanced control over recreational areas by the water. Every day, preventive raids will be conducted in both authorized and unauthorized swimming areas that are popular with vacationers.
As part of informing the public, rescuers from the district department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will hold meetings in work collectives on the topic of water safety. They will talk about specially equipped swimming areas, necessary precautions, and drowning incidents in the Gluboksky district.
For reference: On June 10, in the village of Lozichi, Gluboksky district, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations recovered a 13-year-old boy from a pond. The tragedy occurred in a dug pond.
Rescuers urge everyone to observe safety measures:
– do not leave children unattended, plan their leisure activities;
– discuss with children the dangers of playing near water bodies, the inadmissibility of swimming outside specially equipped areas;
– when planning recreation by water bodies, choose specially equipped places. Rescuers have prepared a republican map of beaches permitted for swimming. Now it has become even easier to find a safe and equipped place for summer recreation. Many prefer "quiet" and "wild" corners by the water, far from civilization. But remember: these places are FORBIDDEN and NOT EQUIPPED for swimming for a reason! The bottom has not been surveyed, there are no rescuers, and statistics show that it is precisely there that recreation most often ends in tragedy.

– remember, danger for children can lurk in inflatable and frame pools, as well as other water containers.
