The republican campaign "Safe Holidays" is starting

What should summer be like? The formula for an ideal summer is simple and straightforward: summer should be sunny, delicious, fun, airy, and most importantly - SAFE.

Who is most at risk of emergencies during the summer period? Children, of course. After all, during the holidays, they are left to themselves most of the time. As a result, the risk of fires due to children's carelessness with fire, as well as the death of children in water bodies, significantly increases.

To ensure that summer holidays for children pass without emergencies and are not overshadowed by tragic events, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will conduct the republican information and propaganda campaign "Safe Holidays" and fill the leisure time of children with many useful activities. The campaign will run from June 1 to August 30 in all corners of Belarus in health and school camps. Its goal is to prevent fires due to children's carelessness with fire, as well as the death and injury of children, and to teach them rules of conduct in water bodies.

Rescuers will visit the children resting in each summer camp shift to add a touch of safety to the children's usual leisure activities.

Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations propaganda department will offer children not just "safety lessons," but the most modern and engaging activities: the all-camp game "Country of Safety," various quizzes on water safety and fire safety, master classes, quizzes, excursions to safety centers, museums, and fire stations, and creative activities – participating with their detachment in the "Safe Landscape" competition or taking a creative selfie with Ministry of Emergency Situations attributes.

There will also be off-site activities: everyone who wishes can participate in the game "School of Young Rescuers," which will be held at fire stations.

Through various game formats, children will gain knowledge on life safety, as it is so necessary, especially during the summer period. Activists of the Belarusian Youth Public Association of Rescuers-Firefighters, students, representatives of OSVOD, and the Belarusian Voluntary Fire Society will assist the Ministry of Emergency Situations in conducting the campaign events.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds: dear parents, grandfathers, and grandmothers!

Under no circumstances leave children unattended! Do not allow children to play with fire, keep matches and lighters out of reach, and do not let children near windows and balconies. Remind children of water safety rules, and ensure that a child does not swim unattended. Remember that not only water bodies pose a danger, but also wells, bathtubs, buckets of water, and decorative ponds.
