On January 9, heavy snowfall is expected in most of the Vitebsk region, which will continue until the end of the day.

Recommendations for the public:

refrain from traveling around the city by personal vehicle;

park your car in a garage; if there is no garage, park your car away from trees;

teach children how to act during bad weather;

while outdoors, avoid shaky structures and houses with unstable roofs;

avoid trees, various high-risk structures (bridges, overpasses, pipelines, power lines, potentially dangerous industrial facilities);

beware of parts of structures and objects hanging over buildings, broken power lines, broken glass, and other sources of danger.

The traffic police have introduced a special plan "WEATHER" in the Vitebsk region.

A special plan "Weather" has been introduced in the Vitebsk, Dokshitsky, Lepelsky, Senno, Chashniksky, Beshenkovichi, Liozno, Dubrovno, Tolochin, Orsha, Shumilino, and Glubokoye districts.

Continuous monitoring of the road network has been organized. Escort of road and utility vehicles convoys is also provided.

To avoid hindering snow removal operations, please do not park along roadsides and do not obstruct the movement of snow-clearing equipment.

Snowdrifts impair controllability, increase braking distance, and the risk of skidding.

In such weather conditions, it is especially important to be attentive while driving: observe speed limits, maintain a safe distance and interval, avoid dangerous maneuvers, and do not forget to fasten your seatbelts and those of your passengers.

If possible, refrain from using personal vehicles and opt for public transportation.

Due to deteriorating weather conditions, energy workers have switched to an enhanced readiness mode.

To ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply to consumers and prompt response to possible disruptions, all organizations of the Belenergo State Production Association are ready for cooperation, clearing access routes to power grid facilities, and prompt elimination of possible damage. Energy workers are constantly monitoring the situation.
