In total, 13 children died from external causes in the Vitebsk region in the past year 2018.

In total, 13 children died from external causes in the Vitebsk region in the past year 2018. At the same time, the deaths of minors occurred as a result of suicide (3 cases), accidental drowning (3 cases), accidental falls (2 cases), aspiration of food remnants (2 cases), traffic accidents (2 cases), and fire (1 case). For 3 months of 2019, 2 cases of child deaths from external causes were registered in the Vitebsk region.

Unfortunately, facts of death of minors are registered annually in the Gluboksky district. The past year 2018 was an exception, during which no child deaths were registered.

It should be noted that for objective reasons, cases of death and injury of minors from external causes significantly increase during the summer period.

In connection with the upcoming summer holidays, the prosecutor's office of the Gluboksky district appeals to the residents of the district, and primarily to parents, with a request to take additional measures to ensure the safety of children. It is deemed necessary for parents to re-explain to their children the requirements of safe behavior rules and to strengthen control over their implementation by minors.
