In anticipation of the summer holidays and the end of the academic year, from May 25 to June 05, 2019, the State Automobile Inspectorate in the Republic of Belarus will conduct a special comprehensive event "Attention-Children!", aimed at preventing child road traffic injuries, instilling safe road behavior skills in young road users, and drawing the attention of drivers, parents, and educators to the problem of child injuries.
Also, in order to prevent child road traffic injuries in the Glubokoe district, a decade of road safety will be held from May 15 to May 25, 2019.
Over the past period of 2019, 11 road traffic accidents involving minors have been registered in the Vitebsk region, in which 1 child died and 10 were injured to varying degrees of severity. No road traffic accidents of this category have occurred in the Glubokoe district.
Caring for children is our common cause. Child neglect, playing and mischief on the roads, sudden appearance near vehicles, and indifference of adults to this are the main causes of accidents involving children on the roads.
We appeal to you with a request: if you see children playing on or near the roadway, do not remain indifferent, reprimand the children, and try to take measures to isolate them from traffic. Drivers, during the comprehensive event (from 05/25/2019 to 06/05/2019), are obliged to drive with their low beam headlights on. Failure to comply with this traffic rule is subject to administrative liability in the form of a fine of up to 2 base units (51 rubles).
Parents!
Be especially careful with preschoolers on the street. Do not leave them unattended. Remember that even one wrong step by a child on the roadway, where traffic may occur, can lead to misfortune. Every time your child leaves home, take the time to remind them of the simple rules of behavior on the street.
Be an example for children in observing traffic rules.
