Belarus proposes to create an "intellectual special forces", but Lukashenko has outlined a number of fundamental issues

It is proposed to establish an educational center in Belarus for training personnel in advanced fields. This was the subject of a meeting with the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, reports BELTA correspondent.
"Today we need to decide what these advanced fields are, without which no state can do without," the head of state noted. The Minister of Education of Belarus Andrei Ivants stated that the proposed fields are those that the country needs.
These include aviation, digital technologies, biotechnology, and a number of other areas for training personnel in engineering specialties. Corresponding schools and potential exist in Belarus based on four universities - BSU, BNTU, BSUIR, and BSTU.
Currently, experimental training programs are already being implemented at a number of universities, but, as the minister noted, not all students will be able to master them. "This does not mean that we are training them poorly. We are training them absolutely for all sectors of our economy. But we need a kind of special forces. And in this case, this (creation of a new center. - BELTA note) will actually be a continuation of the trajectory of the National Children's Technopark, where we see that the concentration of such talented individuals was absolutely justified," said Andrei Ivants.
However, the head of state raised a number of questions at the meeting about whether a separate center should be created to develop these areas. After all, they can be developed based on traditional centers, from universities to the Academy of Sciences. "There is enough space. If only there were people who could drive this forward," he remarked.
