Celebrations in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God were held at the Berezvech Holy Archangel Michael Convent

Celebrations in honor of one of the greatest shrines of Orthodoxy – the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God – took place at the Berezvech St. Michael's Convent. The church in honor of the Archangel Michael became a center of attraction for many residents of Glubokoye today.

The Divine Liturgy was led by Bishop Ignatius of Polotsk and Glubokoye.

Leaders of district authorities participated in the celebrations. The Chairman of the Glubokoye District Executive Committee, Petr Belus, and the Chairman of the District Council of Deputies, Vera Telitsa, warmly congratulated the abbess of the Berezvech monastery, Mother Superior Michaela, on the holiday before the arrival of the ruling bishop. They then, together with the monastery's nuns and parishioners, welcomed the head of the Polotsk diocese with bread and salt and bouquets of flowers.

Pyotr Kazimirovich Belus cordially welcomed Vladyka Ignatius to the land of Glubokoye, congratulated him on the holiday, and with special reverence thanked His Eminence for the spiritual guidance of the residents of our region, for offering prayers to the Lord God for strength and health for the residents of Glubokoye and all of Belarus, for strengthening their spiritual unity and multiplying their labors for the prosperity of our state.

Then, a festive Divine Liturgy was celebrated. With a feeling of great joy and inspiration, the participants of the celebration prayed, giving thanks to our Most Holy Lady Theotokos, the intercessor and patroness of the Christian race.
