The President of Belarus's work schedule is always packed with events. Alexander Lukashenko holds meetings and working sessions on the most pressing issues of the country's development, regularly visits regions, makes foreign visits, and receives foreign guests himself, communicates with journalists, and signs decrees and laws. And even when there are no public events, it does not mean that the head of state is not working. However, even during his leisure time, whether it's a hockey practice or chopping wood, Alexander Lukashenko always finds an opportunity for another assignment. As he likes to say, everything should stem from life.
Alexander Lukashenko's work week began with a meeting with the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, who timed his visit to Minsk to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between the cities. The President emphasized the special depth and spirituality of the relations between Minsk and St. Petersburg (Leningrad) residents, calling cooperation with the Russian northern capital a priority of priorities.
The future of relations between Belarus and China was discussed at a meeting on Tuesday, July 15, with the Rector of Peking University, Gong Qihuang. And this future will be shaped, in part, by several thousand students from both countries studying at each other's universities. Student exchanges, joint programs, and now also a Belarusian-Chinese Center for Fundamental Research, which opened at BSU.
On Tuesday evening, the Head of State received the President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, at his residence. The visit was short-term, but the conversation lasted almost three hours, during which the heads of state managed to discuss many important issues.
On Thursday, July 17, Alexander Lukashenko heard a report from the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, Yuri Senko. He emphasized the special role of this organization, calling it effectively the most powerful "party" organization, ranking higher in its organizational structure than any real party in the country.
On Friday, the Palace of Independence hosted the most significant event of the week – a teleconference meeting on the harvest campaign. Representatives of the local government vertical, heads of enterprises and organizations joined the meeting via video link from all regions. The discussion focused on how to literally salvage the harvest from the fields in the current very challenging season. In this regard, Alexander Lukashenko demanded to act, regardless of any obstacles, and resolve all tasks in a military manner.
Among the important documents signed by the Head of State, the following should be highlighted: the law on amendments to social insurance and pension provision; the decree simplifying land plot registration; additional measures have been taken to provide troops with transport and UAVs in case of mobilization and wartime.
Decisions have also been made to support gifted students, representatives of talented youth. A total of Br800 thousand will be allocated from the Head of State's special funds for these purposes.
The Order of Motherhood has been awarded to female residents of several regions of Belarus.
Foreign congratulations on various occasions were sent this week to France and Nicaragua. The Head of State sent condolences to the President of Iraq following the fire in the city of El Kut.
Alexander Lukashenko congratulated People's Artist of the RSFSR Vasily Livanov on his 90th birthday. Viewers of different generations know and sincerely love the charismatic film characters and cartoon characters he created.
However, the art world suffered a significant loss this week – the talented film director, actor, and screenwriter Alexander Mitta has passed away. The Head of State sent condolences to the family and friends of the People's Artist of the Russian Federation.

On July 14, the President of Belarus met with a delegation from Saint Petersburg, headed by Governor Alexander Beglov. The official visit of the delegation from Russia's northern capital to Minsk was timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of sister city relations between the cities.
