Dubrovno discusses preparations for field work in the Vitebsk region

The main topic is the spring sowing campaign. Measures to prepare agricultural organizations of the Vitebsk region for field work are being discussed at an on-site open meeting of the regional executive committee in Dubrovno. The Minister of Agriculture and Food, Yuri Gorlov, is participating in the meeting. The plenary session was opened by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin.

"The spring sowing campaign is the most important stage of the agricultural year, on which the fate of the future harvest largely depends," emphasized the head of the regional executive committee. "Based on the results of work in 2024, the growth rate of gross production in crop production was 112.4 percent compared to the 2023 level."

The task for 2025 is to ensure the volume of gross production in agricultural organizations of the region at 107.0 percent of the previous year's level, including crop production – at least 115.6 percent.

The Chairman of the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Andrey Bulavkin, spoke about what has already been done and what issues need to be promptly addressed. The meeting will also discuss the reform of agricultural organizations in the region. Participants will visit the machine yard of OJSC "Dubrovno Rayagropromservice". Here they will learn about the organization of agricultural machinery repair and the work of inter-district mechanized detachments. At OJSC "Yakubovo-Agro", they will observe the organization of winter grain crop fertilization, machinery repair, and the clearing of low-quality orchards.
