An international seminar for diving and rescue service specialists has started in Glubokoye

On February 24, an international seminar bringing together specialists from diving and rescue services from Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia began in the Glubokoye district.

The event, aimed at strengthening professional ties and enhancing the effectiveness of joint work, commenced with a solemn ceremony in Victory Park.

Participants paid tribute to the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War by laying flowers at the monument erected in honor of the soldiers who liberated Glubokoye from the invaders. This symbolic start underscored the deep connection between the past and the present, between the feat of ancestors and the daily work of rescuers in ensuring safety.

Tatyana Tarasevich, Deputy Chairperson of the Glubokoye District Executive Committee, addressed the attendees with a welcoming speech. She emphasized the special atmosphere of Victory Park, where the value of peace, won at the cost of immense sacrifices, is particularly keenly felt.

“For over 80 years, Belarus has lived under a peaceful sky, and this is the result of wise state policy and consistent efforts to strengthen security,” – noted Tatiana Tarasevich. She also emphasized that peaceful life is impossible without constant and coordinated work, and such seminars are a unique opportunity for exchanging best practices, discussing current challenges, and strengthening professional ties between units from different countries.

Deputy Head of the Vitebsk Regional Emergency Situations Department, Sergey Markevich, expressed his joy regarding the growing number of participants and the expanding geography of the seminar. He noted that the event is purely educational, aimed at enhancing professional skills. “It is not for nothing that we have gathered on the hospitable Glubokoye land,” said Sergey Nikolaevich, mentioning Lake Dolgoye, one of the deepest lakes in Belarus. It is in such challenging conditions, during winter, that rescuers will hone their skills and share unique experiences.

Sergey Markevich emphasized the importance of the seminar's starting location, linking it to the heroic past when the ancestors of Belarusians, Russians, and Kazakhs fought shoulder to shoulder for the independence and security of their countries. “We considered it necessary to start our seminar from this very place so that all those who have defenders in their families and who today protect their states would remember and honor the memory of those who gave us the opportunity to live in peace,” he noted.

This international seminar in Glubokoye underscores that cooperation and experience exchange between rescue services of different countries are the key to effective response to any emergency situations and a guarantee of security for all of us.
