Minsk introduces new payments for young mothers upon the birth of a child

Minsk has introduced a new benefit for young mothers upon the birth of a child. This is stipulated by the decision of the Minsk City Council of Deputies No. 205 dated December 23, 2025, which was published on the National Legal Internet Portal, BELTA reports. The one-time payment is available to women aged 18 to 25 inclusive who give birth to a child, in the amount of two subsistence minimums effective on the date of birth of each child. Social support is provided for children born from January 1, 2026. A condition for receiving it is that the mother must be registered as a resident of Minsk. To apply for the payment, a young mother must submit an application, a child's birth certificate, and a certificate of residential premises occupied in Minsk, place of residence, and family composition.
The decision of the Minsk City Council of Deputies also expands the category of persons who can count on free transport services provided by a special vehicle "social service". The list includes individuals with Group II disabilities suffering from chronic renal failure for hemodialysis procedures.
