President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting on cinematography, commented on the recent potato shortage. It turned out that this situation was created artificially, reports a BELTA correspondent.
"You must be "moderate," balanced - Belarusians. Down-to-earth people looking ahead. Don't whine all the time that we have "oh, it's bad, there are not enough potatoes," or something else... We have enough of everything.
When the State Control Committee checked some figures, it turned out it was a political move. There were enough potatoes. But they were held back somewhere to show that, look, the President interfered with pricing, so here's the result. And when he (State Control Committee. - BELTA note) came with handcuffs and put it on the table - the potatoes appeared," the Belarusian leader stated.
