On the eve of Women's Day, the Order of Motherhood was awarded in Vitebsk

A festive concert dedicated to Women's Day, held at the regional philharmonic hall in the format of the television program "Evening Vitebsk," served as an original gift for the fairer sex.

The "key responsible persons" for the women of the Dvina region were invited to meet with large families: Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin and Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee Alexey Geroev.

The culmination of the celebration was the presentation of the state award – the Order of Motherhood – to women for giving birth to and raising five or more children.

These awards were presented to Yulia Gulyashko, a shop assistant at "Marko" LLC "Marko-service" from Glubokoye; housewives Natalia Litvinova from Novopolotsk, Yulia Lyutik and Olga Savitskaya from Vitebsk; Veronica Malakhevich, a controller-cashier at "Euroopt" store, a branch of "Evrotorg" LLC in Vitebsk; Alla Poznyak, an employee of the branch "Tollchin Road Repair and Construction Department No. 147" of State Enterprise "Vitebskobladorstroy"; Kristina Romanovskaya, an electronic data processing machine operator at LLC "Chistyye Krinitsy" from Orsha; Olga Solovyova, a milking machine operator at MTF "Devino," a branch of RUP "Vitebskenergo" "Teplichny"; and Lyudmila Shotova, director of Vitebsk private enterprise "ShiKom-plyus."

"A total of over a thousand residents of the Dvina region have been awarded the Order of Motherhood for giving birth to and raising five or more children. On the eve of the holiday, from this grand stage where we honored our mothers of large families, I want to wish them and all other mothers to always remain young, blooming, joyful, and to always keep spring in their souls," said Alexander Subbotin. "All titles a woman receives in her life are honorable. They exude kindness, warmth, and comfort: besides the title of mother, there is wife, grandmother. Any of them obliges us men to a lot and inspires us to perform feats for you, dedicate poems to you, and love you more and more."

On the pre-holiday day, the men wished the women warmth, comfort, prosperity, and peace in every home, that their loved ones be healthy, and that everything develop positively.

In healthcare, education, culture, the agro-industrial complex, light industry, trade, and the financial and banking sector of the Vitebsk region, the majority are women. An active civic stance, a high educational and professional level, initiative, and a responsible attitude to work have become integral features of our contemporaries.

Flowers, words of appreciation for their maternal feat, and performances by choreographic groups and soloists were dedicated to these remarkable women. Together with the heroines of the occasion, their family members present in the hall, and many other distinguished women of the Vitebsk region shared the bright and touching moments of the celebration.
