'Children in the Spotlight!'. The Ministry of Emergency Situations' campaign has launched across the country

How much time does a child need to get matches from a cupboard? To turn on an electrical appliance?

How much time does a child need to get matches from a cupboard? To turn on an electrical appliance? Or perhaps to hide from prying eyes and start a fire? There is only one correct answer to these and similar questions – absolutely none, if parents are closely monitoring their child and not leaving them unattended.

Unfortunately, statistics show that the vast majority of "fire" injuries sustained by children are caused by two factors: restless curiosity and lack of adult supervision. And if it is impossible to forbid a young person from exploring the world around them, then it is within everyone's power to take care of their safety in advance.

From August 21, a preventive campaign "In the Spotlight – Children!" will be launched in the republic and will last until September 15.

The campaign events, held in two stages, are aimed at attracting public attention to the problem of child deaths and injuries from fires due to leaving them unattended.

Thus, from August 21 to August 31, in large shopping centers and other retail outlets specializing in the sale of goods for preschool and school-aged children, MES employees, together with activists from BMOOSP and KYUSP, will remind parents about the dangers of leaving children unattended and will advise on how to protect their families from emergencies.

The second stage of the campaign will take place from September 1 to September 15 in the city's educational institutions. Safety lessons, interactive platforms, contests, and gifts – this and much more awaits all participants of the campaign!

Dear parents, do not leave children alone. Most tragedies occur when children are left to themselves.
