Why is it needed – a sound that warns of disaster

There are things in a house that do not catch the eye. They do not sparkle, do not demand attention, do not decorate the interior. But it is they – like invisible angels – that stand guard over safety and life. Among them is the autonomous fire alarm. Modest, round, silent. But when disaster strikes, it is the first to cry out. Why is it so important to install one? Statistics are ruthless: most deaths in fires occur at night, when people do not smell smoke. An alarm is a chance to wake up, a chance to escape, a chance to save what is dear. First and foremost, your life.

An autonomous fire alarm is not just a device. It is the sensitive hearing of your home, capable of detecting the first whispers of disaster. When you are deep in sleep, when the house is filled with tranquility, it stays awake, ready to sound an alarm at the first signs of smoke. The cheapest and most effective means of salvation that can be in your home is an autonomous fire alarm. Thanks to the activation of autonomous fire alarms, 93 people were saved last year, including 21 children. In 8 months of the current year, 36 people were saved, including 6 children.

There have been cases of rescue with the help of autonomous fire alarms in our district as well. A fire report was received by the Ministry of Emergency Situations from the agro-town "Ozertsy".

The resident of the agro-town was awakened by the loud sound of a triggered autonomous fire alarm. Fire was already raging in the neighboring apartment. The pensioner hurried to evacuate and just in time: she managed to escape from the smoke and call rescuers.

This case, where a triggered autonomous fire alarm helped save a person's life in a fire, is far from the only one. Every year in Belarus, fire alarms save hundreds of human lives.

Where to install – a safety map of your space: as a rule, alarms are installed in places where people sleep, so it is best to install fire alarms in living rooms. Installing an alarm in the kitchen is not advisable.

And if you live in a house that was built (or significantly renovated) after 2004 and the project provides for the installation of an autonomous fire alarm – it must be installed “by law,” not by choice.

These useful devices do not require any complex maintenance. It is important to remember to replace the battery approximately once a year. Choose a quality power source, for example, a "Krona" battery. The detector signals in two cases: when the battery is low and when smoke is detected. These signals are different. If your detector periodically "beeps," it means the power source needs to be replaced. If smoke enters the device, the signal will be sharp and long, making it difficult to miss.
