Smoking is the most common of all bad habits. It is no secret that a large number of people in Belarus smoke. According to various surveys, more than 50% of men and 10% of women reach for ill-fated cigarettes daily, some of which become the cause of fires in the future.

“Yes, I know what I'm doing. Stop telling me about it!” – a popular phrase among inveterate smokers when they are told about the consequences of careless handling of fire while smoking. For some reason, each of them believes that they are always vigilant and will never allow such a thing. However, the facts say the opposite: the vast majority of people, taking another cigarette out of the pack, do not even think that it could be their last.

“Victims of Habit” – this is the title of a new film prepared by the Republican Center for Propaganda as part of the campaign “Don't Burn Your Life!”. The plot focuses on smoking addiction and its consequences. Using real-life situations as an example, you will learn what a smoldering cigarette can lead to and what dangers it can entail, visually examine the process of a fire developing due to an unextinguished cigarette butt, and also hear stories of people who caused fires due to their fault and those who suffered through no fault of their own.

Rescuers hope that after watching this film, everyone who picks up a cigarette will think about the consequences and make every effort to ensure that their craving for smoking does not become the cause of a tragedy, and perhaps even decide to give up the harmful habit forever!
