Assessment of CSTO rapid response forces training suggested
VITEBSK, 29 July (BelTA) – Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Nikolai Bordiuzha suggests assessing the training level of the military units that make up the CSTO’s rapid response forces. Nikolai Bordiuzha made the statement after getting familiar with the combat training system of the 103rd special operations brigade of the Belarusian army on 29 July, BelTA has learned. The idea was discussed with the chief of the special operations forces of the Belarusian army and was approved off. Nikolai Bordiuzha said it would be important to assess the training level of special operations units of Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia since they would have to carry out combat missions together. Oleg Belokonev, the chief of the special operations forces of the Belarusian army, added that the Belarusian army practices evaluation of training in different units of different armies. He reminded that every year Belarus holds international competitions to name the best sniper pair and the best scout unit. Military personnel from Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Qatar take part in them. The visit was organized following the initiative of the Belarusian side as part of Belarus’ ongoing presidency in the CSTO.
