Businessmen from Austria, Great Britain, Turkey and Poland show their interest in project of Vitebsk Centre of Modern Art
During the Belarus Investment Forum in London, businessmen and financial experts from Austria, Great Britain, Turkey and Poland showed their interest in an investment project of the Vitebsk Centre of Modern Art, Valentina Kirillova, the director of the centre, told BelTA. The Vitebsk Centre of Modern Art presented the project connected with the names of famous artists Marc Chagall and Kazimir Malevich who worked in Vitebsk in early 20s of the 20th century. The Vitebsk Centre of Modern Art is seeking partners to restore the Vitebsk People’s Art College founded by Marc Chagall and Kazimir Malevich, the construction of an exhibition and business centre on the bank of the Zapadnaya-Dvina River. The total cost of the investment project is $12 million. According to Valentina Kirillova, the foreign businessmen showed the interest in the project as it is an opportunity to develop a new model of the tourism infrastructure at the national and international level, to create the market of artworks and intellectual property, to promote the artworks created by modern artists. At present, the Vitebsk Centre of Modern Art is starting to organize a number of working meetings with potential partners. During the Belarus Investment Forum in London, the Vitebsk oblast presented seven projects at the amount of more than $130 million. Three of them concern the development of the social infrastructure of Vitebsk.
