The deadline for filing applications for the participation in the Slavonic Bazaar Festival qualifying rounds is February 15, BelTA was told in the arts department of the Culture Ministry of the Republic of Belarus. Pop singers having a previous concert and contest experience aged between 18 and 35 can apply for the participation in the qualifying round of the international song contest “Vitebsk-2008”. Singers having a previous concert and contest experience aged between 7 and 12 can apply for participation in the qualifying round of the international children’s song contest “Vitevsk-2008”. Qualifying round is held in three stages. The first one is an audition and video review by a group of experts. The first round ends on March 1 and is held in the culture centre “Vitebsk”. The second round is an audition by professional panel of judges of the signers who have passed through the first round. The second round will be held by April 1. At a concert in May the singers will perform their songs accompanied by minus 1 phonograms. After the concert the jury will announce the names f one participant of the international song contest “Vitebsk-2008” and participants (one per each age group) of the international children’s song contest “Vitebsk-2008”.
