VITEBSK, 20 April (BelTA) – The Easter Festival started in Vitebsk on 20 April, BelTA learnt from the eparchial administration of the Vitebsk Orthodox Eparchy. The festival organized within the framework of the nationwide program "Family. Unity. Fatherland" features a variety of activities. On 20 April, members of the Union of Folk Artists will hold a master class on painting Easter eggs in the Dvina cultural and historical center. The exhibitions of icons “The Image of Christ the Savior” and photos “The City of Light” will open in the city in the next few days. The Maladzik aesthetic education center will host an exhibition of children's works “God’s World Through the Eyes of Children." Concerts of church music will be organized at the art museum and the regional philharmonic society. A fair of works of Sunday school students will be held at the Holy Dormition Cathedral on 1 May. The cathedral will host an exposition of local folk craftsmen on 4 May, and on 12-13 May, it will become the venue for an international scientific conference “Belarus in the Great Patriotic War of 1812” dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Russia’s victory in this military conflict. A number of activities will be dedicated to the days of the family, child protection, Slavic literature and culture. The festival will conclude with a procession to the Holy Dormition Cathedral on 5 June.
