As one of the ways to encourage the Muscovites to go to the presidential poll, the North Administrative District of Moscow decided to hold a trade fair of goods made by Vitebsk’ producers, BelTA learned from top adviser of the chairman of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee Nikolay Fedorchuk. The decision to invite Vitebsk’ companies to the fair scheduled for February 29-March 2 was made at a session of the economic group of the North Administrative District, he said. The exhibitions will be organised in three districts of the Russian capital. Nikolay Fedorchuk noted, the exhibition will feature Belarusian products such as dairy and meat products, baked goods, as well as footwear, carpets.Some 25 companies of the Vitebsk oblast are expected to partake in the fair in Moscow. In 2007, exports of the Vitebsk oblast to Moscow exceeded $190 million, up 10.7% from 2006. Exports to Moscow accounts for one fourth of the total exports of Vitebsk to the Russian Federation. Footwear and clothes sales increased by 25% as compared to previous years.
