VITEBSK, 20 May (BelTA) – Favorable conditions for the operation of foreign businessmen have been created in Belarus. The statement was made by Olga Kapacevic, Director of OW Plus (Czechia), a participant of the innovation and investment forum “Innovation business – investments in future” that took place in Vitebsk on 20 May. Belarusian and Czech companies and businessmen can cooperate in various spheres, however, manufacturing is the most effective one, the businesswoman was convinced. She said she believed that favorable conditions for developing new manufacturing enterprises have been created in Belarus. Yet Olga Kapacevic regretted the fact that Western Europe knew very little about the real state of affairs in Belarus and about measures the government took to support private business. The Czech company OW Plus manufactures electric equipment for automobiles and tractors, including those made by Skoda and Volkswagen. At the Vitebsk forum OW Plus signed a protocol of intent to set up a joint venture on the base of the republican unitary enterprise Zavod Evistor, with the total volume of investments at $5 million. Scheduled to take place in Vitebsk on 20-21 May, the investment forum gathered over 200 representatives of business circles from 12 countries. Over 150 new proposals were offered to potential investors. Priority areas are innovative technologies for logistics, energy saving, food industry, woodworking industry, mechanical engineering, pharmaceutics and tourism. A scientific and practice exhibition of innovative and investment projects “Science. Innovations. Investments” is supposed to take place as part of the forum along with a presentation of priority projects, a business matchmaking session, visits to enterprises and investment platforms. Investors will get an opportunity to get familiar with the projects already implemented in the oblast. Investors will be able to talk to businessmen, who are involved in investment activities in the oblast.
