New resident company of FEZ Vitebsk to direct $18m in freight forwarding services
VITEBSK, 12 July (BelTA) – Cargo Service Company, a new resident company of FEZ Vitebsk, specializes in freight transportation and providing transport and dispatch services, BelTA learned from the Investment and Economic Department of the Vitebsk FEZ Administration. The investment in the project will make up $18 million. The company which was set up with participation of a Belarusian investor will transport cargo under export contracts and provide rental service of rolling stock. Moreover, the company will provide freight forwarding services including planning the best route taking into account the crossing of border in a convenient customs point, selecting suitable vehicles and a number of related services. The project is export-oriented. The company will provide services to entities from Russia, other CIS countries and Baltic states. Cargo Service is the second resident of FEZ Vitebsk that will be headquartered in Yuzhnaya, Orsha. This site consists of three sectors: North Industrial Node (Orsha), Lyos (Baran), and Aircraft Repair Plant (Bolbasovo). The site, the total area of which is 520 hectares, was made part of FEZ Vitebsk in pursuance of Decree No. 674 of President of Belarus as of 24 December 2010. FEZ Vitebsk now includes sectors located in Vitebsk. The total area of the territory of FEZ Vitebsk is more than 2,100 hectares and includes 12 sectors located in Vitebsk, Postavy, Orsha, Baran, Bolbasovo (Orsha District), and in Vitebsk District. Founded in August 1999, FEZ Vitebsk is implementing 42 investment projects today. Over 60% of FEZ Vitebsk residents are joint and foreign enterprises with investments from 13 countries, including Germany, Poland, United States, Czech Republic, UK, Russia, Canada, the Netherlands and Israel. The industrial backbone of FEZ Vitebsk is the companies working in the field of mechanical engineering, woodworking, food, chemical, fuel and light industry. n
