VITEBSK, 13 January (BelTA) – Belarusian Novopolotsk and Ukrainian Skadovsk of Kherson Oblast became twin towns. The agreement on cooperation and twin-town relations was signed by Chairperson of the Novopolotsk town hall Natalia Kochanova and Chairman of the Skadovsk town hall Alexander Gavrish, BelTA learned from the ideology department of the Novopolotsk town hall. This agreement laid the foundation of business, cultural, scientific, and sports cooperation of citizens and organizations in order to strengthen trust, mutual understanding and friendship between two peoples. Novopolotsk and Skadovsk are eager to exchange their experience in industry, trade and economy, environmental protection, health care and social aid. Skadovsk is the first Ukrainian town, which became the twin town of Novopolosk, and the 15th in the list of its close friends. Belarusian Novopolotsk has twin towns in Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, France and China.
