VITEBSK, 14 June (BelTA) – Trud-Vitebsk Company has launched the production of disposable underwear for medical institutions, BelTA learnt from the economy department of the Vitebsk City Hall. There are no large producers of such goods in Belarus at a time when consumption of such items in the national medical institutions is high. Trud-Vitebsk is taking part in the import-substitution program as a producer of medical products: one-use underwear and relevant accessories. In Q1 2012 the company supplied the domestic market with $24,300 worth of import-substituting products. The production of surgical dressing has been launched at Galteyafarm Company. The company has already manufactured these import-substituting products worth $800,000. According to the city hall, Vitebsk industrial companies work hard on technical upgrading, development of innovative and import-substituting products. As of 1 May, 60 out of 84 companies made innovative products.
