The international festival of modern choreography has finished in Vitebsk, BelTA learnt in the Vitebsk Cultural Centre. The Moscow Boroditskiy Dennis Dance Company /B.D.D.C/ has won the Grand Prix of the contest. Ballet troupe “Zrelost” of the Minsk Theater of Modern Choreography and the Hangzhou Theater of Opera and Ballet /China/ were awarded the 1st prize of the festival. The Diana Yurchenko Theater-Studio of Modern Choreography /Vitebsk/ and the TAD Modern Choreography Company /Grodno/ were awarded the 2nd prize. Attending the dance contest were 20 choreographic groups from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Kazakhstan, China, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland and Slovenia. Dancers presented 9 one act ballets and 19 choreographic miniatures. Within the framework of the festival, various video-performances and master-classes with the participation of famous choreographers from Moscow, Kiev, New York and Yekaterinburg were held. The Vitebsk festival has been held annually since 1987 and it is one of the most famous festivals of the modern choreography in the CIS and Europe. The festival popularizes the modern dance as one of the most developing avenues of the world art.
