Vitebsk to host International Beatles-Festival 17-19 June
VITEBSK, 30 May (BelTA) – The International Beatles-Festival “Ob-la-ki, Ob-la-ka” will be held in Vitebsk on 17-19 June, BelTA learnt from the project manager, the chairman of the Vitebsk Beatles-Club Garik Ogandzhanian. The festival dedicated to the cult Fab Four will be held in the regional center for the first time. Despite this, all three days of the festival will be very busy. Beatles fans will be treated to dozens of special events to be arranged in the streets of the city and in the Vitebsk Beatles-club “Attic”. Three large concerts will be held on the main cultural stage of the city - the Summer Amphitheater. On 18 June fans will see “The Big Beatles Concert” and a solo performance by Boris Grebenshchikov and his Aquarium band. The musical “Beatlemania” by the Stas Namin Theater will be presented on 19 June. The host of the main activities will be Dmitry Dibrov, a big fan of the Beatles. The list of participants also features the People's Artist of Russia Alexei Kuznetsov, famous bluesman Alexander Tsyganok, Flat band who performed at the famous Liverpool Cavern Club, tribute band Beathoven (Ukraine), HeartBeat (Russia), The Apples (Belarus) and many other artists. The festival organizers promise to provide a platform to several of the most brilliant amateur projects dedicated to The Beatles. “Our festival is open to all. This is a great feast of good music, which for half a century has brought the whole world together,” said Garik Ogandzhanian.
