Belarus, Bulgaria to develop juridical cooperation
MINSK, 8 July (BelTA) – Justice Minister of Belarus Viktor Golovanov and his Bulgarian counterpart Margarita Popova signed agreements on legal assistance in criminal cases and extradition on 8 July, BelTA has learnt. According to Viktor Golovanov, these documents are another step to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, promote links between the two ministries and bring the tow parties closer to signing a ministerial agreement. It will help exchange the jurisdiction experience. The signed documents will boost cooperation between the law enforcement bodies of the two countries. The agreements will help make the assistance to crime victims more efficient. The two agreements will into force as soon as there are ratified. According to the Justice Ministry, Belarus and Bulgaria have been steadily cooperating in the juridical area. The agreement on legal assistance in civil cases took effect in late December 2007. The document provided Belarusian with an opportunity to address the courts and other juridical services of Bulgaria.
