MINSK, April 15 (BelTA) – The republican research centre “Cardiology” has been awarded the prestigious Polish Golden Otis Confidence Award. The award ceremony will be held in Warsaw on April 27, BelTA learnt from the director of the Cardiology centre Alexander Mrochek. According to him, the award has been presented to the centre in recognition of its contribution and successes in the development of transplantology. This is the first time that Belarus has been honoured. Golden Otis was instituted in 2004. Since then the annual award has gained a great exposure in mass media, medical community and general public. Every year Golden OTIS is awarded in various areas of medicine. Alexander Mrozhek reminded that three hear transplantation operations have been performed in Belarus. The condition of the patients is stable, all physiological parameters are normal.
