Belarus government in favour of longer loan redemption terms
MINSK, March 24 (BelTA) – The Belarusian government suggests prolonging loan redemption terms, Vice Premier Viktor Burya told a session of the Council of Ministers Presidium on March 24. The session tabled measures meant to ensure the unconditional achievement of this year’s housing construction goals. “I believe it is necessary to continue working on facilitating borrowing procedures for people in need of better housing in the area of prolonging loan redemption terms,” said Viktor Burya. At present Belarusbank loans are granted to citizens in need of better homes for up to 15 years on general terms and for up to 20 years on preferential terms. The Vice Premier underscored that arrangements had been made with Belarusbank to ensure an uninterrupted flow of preferential loans to individuals. After the planned volume of loans is issued, matters relating to additional funding will be dealt with. Measures have been taken to reduce interest rates for loans issued by banks on general terms.
