MINSK, April 8 (BelTA) – Belarus and Kazakhstan will exchange preliminary information about goods and transport vehicles moved across customs borders in the electronic form. A relevant protocol was signed between the State Customs Committee of Belarus and the Finance Ministry of Kazakhstan on April 8. In accordance with the document, the sides will exchange e-information about goods and transport vehicles cleared by one of the customs bodies of the states and moved across their customs borders. The document is aimed at increasing the efficiency of control over legitimacy of exports and imports, counteracting commercial fraud, said Alexander Shpilevsky, chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus. The document will allow speeding up customs clearance procedures, which in turn, will promote the trade between the two countries. For example, a customs clearance procedure will now take 7- 10 minutes instead of 40 minutes. According to Alexander Shpilevsky, the customs services of the two countries are ready to start implementing the protocol. The sides are now coordinating the technicalities. The process of signing documents necessary to form the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan continues, Alexander Shpilevsky said. “Signing of this protocol is another step in the interaction between the customs services,” Alexander Shpilevsky said. For his part, chairman of the customs control committee of the Finance Ministry of Kazakhstan Kozy-Korpesh Karbuzov said that the signing of the document attests to the trust between the customs services of the two states. The bilateral relations in the customs area are on a high level. There are almost no big issues in the relations, he said.
