MINSK, 4 August (BelTA) – Belarusian government agencies must do their outmost to prevent fires in the country, the press service of the Belarusian head of state quoted Alexander Lukashenko as saying on 4 August. The government, governors, the Emergencies Ministry, the Interior Ministry and other government agencies have been instructed to step up control over fire security, to mobilize all the available resources and take comprehensive measures to prevent fires and other emergencies that can be brought about by the abnormal temperatures. Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky has been instructed to discuss with his Russian counterpart the possibility of Belarus aiding Russia in fighting forest fires and restoring the properties destroyed by the fire.
