MINSK, 13 July (BelTA) – The Qatari Emiri Guards Commander is on an official visit to Belarus on 10-17 July, BelTA learnt from Vladimir Lavrenyuk, Spokesperson for the State Defense Industries Committee of Belarus. On 12 July, the head of the Qatari military delegation met with Chairman of the State Defense Industries Committee of Belarus Sergei Gurulev. The sides confirmed their intention to expand the military and technical cooperation. The State Defense Industries Committee held presentations of Belarusian defense enterprises and individual samples of weapons, military and special vehicles. Qatar is familiar with the products of Belarus’ Beltechexport and Atomtex that took part in a number of international exhibitions in this country. The main business of the Atomtex company is production of instruments and equipment for nuclear measurements and radiation monitoring. The Belarusian military and Belarus-made military and special vehicles took part in the Ferocious Falcon exercise of the Qatari Armed Forces in October 2008.
