Belarus ready to step up cooperation with Turkmenistan
ASHGABAD, 28 April (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to expand the spectrum of cooperation with Turkmenistan, said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko as he met with Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Ashgabad on 28 April. Alexander Lukashenko thanked his counterpart for concrete nature of relations and for firmness and solidarity between men. “Everything we agree on gets implemented,” said the Belarusian head of state. “We are ready to step up cooperation with Turkmenistan,” stressed Alexander Lukashenko. “You are beginning to develop the real economy sector. You expect Belarus to join the process and we are ready to do it. It is profitable for us”. He remarked that the official delegation of Belarus in Turkmenistan included several ministers and heads of Belarusian enterprises. “We will lay down our proposals and are ready to answer your questions,” said the President of Belarus. The President of Turkmenistan thanked Alexander Lukashenko for accepting the invitation to visit Turkmenistan. “We have a very good tradition of vigorously interacting at the top level,” he remarked. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow said he was confident that the present visit of the Belarusian president would advance mutual relations between the countries even more. He also pointed out fruitful work of the Belarusian-Turkmen intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation.
