Belarus to celebrate 600th anniversary of Battle of Grunwald
MINSK, 8 April (BelTA) – Belarus will celebrate the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald by festivals and parades, Alexander Varikish, director of the Country of Castles Travel Company, told reporters on 7 April, BelTA has learnt. The festivals timed to the Battle of Grunwald will be held in all over the country. On 24 April, Silichi will host the Grunwald-Fest Knights Festival and the festival of the medieval culture will be held in Polotsk on 15-16 May. The festivals will be organized in Ivenets, Grodno, Dudutki and other towns and villages of Belarus. The biggest festival timed to the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald will be held in Novogrudok. “It will become the national festival which will gather Belarusian knights clubs,” Alexander Varikish noted. On 9 July, the knights parade will march from the Minsk City Hall to the Palace of Sports. After this, the knights will leave Minsk for the Grunwald Field. The program of the festival has been prepared by the Belarusian Culture Ministry. On 15-18 July, the Polish Grunwald will restore that historical event. Practically all the Belarusian knights clubs will attend the festival in Poland.
