The industry employs highly qualified professionals, said Vice Premier of Belarus Ivan Bambiza at the opening of the international agribusiness expo Belagro 2010 in Minsk on 8 June. The expo features equipment and technologies of over 400 exhibitors from 19 countries. The forum has gathered top executives and representatives of agricultural authorities of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia, and Russia. The fact indicates that the resolution of food problems is topical for many countries because the well-being of people depends on it and agribusiness serves this purpose, said Ivan Bambiza. In his words, meetings with executives and representatives of the agricultural authorities from other countries at Belagro 2010 will foster the establishment of new business contacts and the signing of new contracts. Belagro is a leading forum for agrarians. It reflects not only changes in the government’s view on major avenues of the Belarusian agribusiness policy but achievements of agricultural workers.
