Belarusian President expects impartiality from American analysts
MINSK, 14 December (BelTA) – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said he expects unbiased and fair assessments from the American analysts as he met with representatives of the top United States’ analytical centers on 14 December. “I am confident that as true professionals you will be unbiased and impartial,” the President said. Alexander Lukashenko stressed that he would like the American analysts to see everything by themselves in normal working environment and get answers to all questions. “It is impossible to form an impartial opinion on any issue, relying on reports by a bunch of partisan journalists or the so-called ‘independent experts’,” said the President. “We do not restrict you in meetings, and we are ready for an open discussion of the most urgent problems. We understand the importance of a direct dialogue without unnecessary mediators.” Alexander Lukashenko added “You may see that we are fully open to you. We did not organize any casting for those willing to visit Belarus with your delegation. Everybody, who wanted to come and who showed interest in looking into situation in Belarus, is present here.” Alexander Lukashenko said that he wished the meeting with representatives of the top US analytical centers had been held long before. “I am sure that problems and complications on Belarus-US relations, which are many, would not have emerged or would have been resolved,” said the President. He added that it is assessments and forecast of analysts that largely shape the White House’s policy towards a particular country.
